She's had it bad for years (I'm a BIG enabler) but it's all under the stairs and I know that bugs her, so I'm building a unit where she can do different dioramas and it will be the centerpiece of the room. It's actually quite selfish, I love looking at Lego.

That is soooo sweet Brian! Maybe you guys will even play Lego together!

My 5 year old nephew just loves coming to my place. So far I have managed to keep it to just Star Wars and Batman Lego. Naboo Swamp and Anakin's Podracer arrived this morning...well, I'm off to play...

Well, I'm still living in a bit of shambles, half the work is done but it became apparent that whoever wired this room did so under a pile of discount cough syrup. So I've got an electrician in there right now and he'll likely be there for the remainder of the day.

I tried to buy some museum display cases in the meantime and was met with quotes ranging from 2-3k.

Lucky for me we've got this chain in Canada called JYSK, it's a smaller IKEA and they make these awesome things for $140:

Probably another week until I unpack sadly...

Nice looking display case! An electrician, that can't be cheap. Looking forward to seeing the completed set up!

Good luck with the reno' Brian.

Hey, if the wife won't go for the "Shag" how about a nice "Pod Ball Chair" compromise?

                    Neat! Very Prisoner like.

I tried to find Shag in my neck of the woods and couldn't, so I went Berber instead (after the electrician, I needed to) of course, the very next day I found some.

32 countries, but none in the U.S.! I really like that unit. Ikea's version is a bit too small for my tastes. I just moved this weekend and finally have a room for my toys.

Oh man, how does that happen?

This company knocks off the Detolfe as well and while I own a couple and like them, the width kind of limits you.

Yeah, that's why I passed on them.

And, Tim- I don't expect to get it set up any time soon. Too many other things to do. Also, its a small room, but it beats the two Billy shleves I had up in the last place. But when it is done, I will share my geeky goodness.

Good luck on the remodel Brian. I'm currently trying to revive my collectibles room after having to dump everything out of our office to make a nursery for our daughter. Sheesh. Kids.

Oh, and mine is still covered in wood-grain paneling and bad carpet. And it's going to stay that way. I'm never going to move this crap ever again!

I've got a room picked out in my house to transform into a toyroom. This is what it looked like when we bought the house

Most of the crap you see is gone, but has been replaced with boxes full of my stuff. As you can see I have to redo the floor, ceiling, walls, replace the electricity, install central heating and close up two doorways. Still think you got it bad, Brian?
I hope to get started on it this summer
