The greatest toy line < star wars> and the greatest doll company < mego> , now that makes my tongue hard.
That hadn't even crossed my mind. That would be AWESOME!
As long as they didn't start making every single character ever to appear in a Star Wars film for a nano-second and just stuck to the popular ones at first.
That would be like so ironic if that happened. The deal (non-deal) that is popularly theorized as being the downfall of Mego being the one that revived it.

As much as I hate buying stuff made in China, these would be a big seller if they did enough volume to keep the price down and get them on tv and in every store.
Especially if they could tie it into some Star Wars event when they launched the line. Comiccon or something maybe, too.

Sideshow has the rights to 12" Star Wars; Hasbro has 'em for anything smaller. Sounds like a tough sale. Plus the price point would be much higher just for the brand name. If this were doable I would guess at a 29.99 figure. Maybe even a little more. Sideshow started at around 50 bucks. Double what Hasbro was doing for previous 12" figures. They (sideshow figures) are now $80 plus depending on the accessories. Vader and the new troopers are over the Ben Franklin mark. Sharply contrasted to Sideshow in house brands like the Dead line which started out at the 40 dollar mark, and are now about $60 a pop. Seems like Lucasfilm has at least a 20% markup over the house brand.

AND; then there would be the controversy over Classic vs. Modern trilogy and Expanded Universe figures. Since Mego is a retro company, it would be a little odd for them to slap out a thousand clones with different paint deco even tho this is what seems to keep Hasbro afloat with the SW brand.

But... It does make for a fun pipe dream.
