Mego Warehouse Mystery Solved… Or Is It?

Years ago I was approached by a former Mego employee that said he would write a book about Mego for $5,000. Not being in the publishing business, I told him that was very interesting but I really wouldn't know what to do with it. Fast forward to today and I actually am involved with a small publishing business. I reached out to him a couple of years ago and he didn't respond. Not sure how commercially viable it would be but I've always thought it would be cool to do a book on the company and have stories like the one in this thread in it. So....I'm going through my old toy trade magazines and I find this ad for warehouse space in Brentwood, NY. Is this ad the very one that Mego responded to when they needed more space? I dunno but I thought the coincidence was pretty crazy. This was a 1977 Ad but I see it in other years too.

yeah my family business is 100 odd years old, my gramps used to write on a stamp and stamp it back in the days ive been told

Well gang...apparently we spoke too soon....there IS evidence that Mego was there. Our contact at the warehouse sent us two photos this morning of Rubber Shipping Stamp imprints that he found on the wall since our visit.

Here is the second...to Montgomery Ward Store #8200



What's interesting is that these are obviously rubber stamps but are hand written.
