I guess I am not the only one.

I keep a master Excel spreadsheet of my current inventory of:
      Action figures
      DVDs
      Die-cast cars and spaceships
-anything else I collect, including TV episodes, books, etc
also theatrical and DVD release dates, and shelf dates for action figures, die cast, etc

      my Mego tabs have:
historical data (release by series by year, T1 vs T2, boxed or carded, etc.)
inventory (columns are vintage, Repro, and my ranked wishlist)

Not at all. They're scattered here and there. The only one kind of on display is General Ursus, but he is surrounded by the operating tables covered with unpainted 1/6 scale heads. Taylor is in a basket with a bunch of other nude figures. Cornelius is sleeping inside a drawer, and his hand fell off. Zira is currently headless. Her body is wearing Dave Mc's unpainted Princess Leia, and the Zira head with a new hairdo is in a jar.
Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.
Samples of my work are found here: Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness

        To do list:
1:6 boots for Mathilda, 1:1 Romulan Commander outfit, Ursus helmet; Cornelius appliance
        1:9 scale ape's new suit for Cornelius;

As far as toys I have no inventory. What's not displayed is packed away and I'd hate to go through it all to list but I do have a pretty good memory although I have bought things I already have by mistake.
Now I do keep an inventory of my comics. If i didn't I know I'd be buying the same ones over and over again.

I have spreadsheets for almost everything I collect. As for my action figure collection, I keep track of my expenses by category (Mego, Big Jim, EMCE etc). However, I only keep a separate detail inventory sheet of my Mego figures.

I've got everything inventoried for one, morbid reason...If I were to die, my 3 boys know exactly who gets what.

I used to have all my collections catalogued in detail. When my computer crashed, I lost a bunch of stuff including my most up to date inventory. Since most of my stuff is packed away, I haven't yet redone the up to date list. I will when I buy the house and we're settled in because I'm that anal and because of insurance and so my wife and boys will know what to do with it all should anything happen to me much like Spidey up there ^

I have kept track of every purchase and sale without fail for over 10 years. I also have a current list of everything in my collection with condition and value. I see these spreadsheets as an invaluable tool for several reasons.

                    1. For insurance purposes
                    2. So my wife knows exactly what I have and what to sell it for if anything ever happened to me
                    3. Without any disposable income for toys, the spreadsheet is a way of making sure I stay ahead or 'in the black' as an accontant would say. By micromanaging purchases and sales, I am able to have a great collection while only spending what I call my 'toy money'.

This thread actually turned out more interesting that I thought would. Thanks for contributing.
