So are these actually a Mego product or would they be considered some kind of knockoff?
Do they have underwear on under their shirt/dress to be complete?
Are these rare? desired? or poor, second-cousins to the Mego collector?

I've always counted them as true Mego's

They use the Mego body, sculpt and they're 100% legit.

        1. Not actual Mego but not a knockoff. I'd consider them a closely related, fully licensed cousin to the Mego POTAs.

        2. No undies. Oh my!

        3. Rare? Yes, much more so than the Mego versions. Desired? Many aren't interested because they aren't official Megos, but some die hard POTA fans and collectors of foreign variations desire them a lot. These aren't easy to find. Boxed ones would be near impossible if not for a small warehouse find in the 90's. But most of those are locked into collections and don't turn up very often anymore.

At any rate, I love the pantless little apes.

I wonder how many con artists just take the pants off of their Mego apes and try to sell them as Cispa. I have a AHI ape with no clothes does that count
          It's all good!

Nah, the clothes are still very different from the Mego versions, no one would hopefully fall for that trick.

Never heard of these till i got here, But i must admit they do nothing for me just as the Ledys don't do anything for me, Yes they are rare but they are just a var of the standard MEGO and cost a lot more so i'd just pass and buy a loosea teen titian for around the same price

There's nothing wrong with that opinion, they're not for everyone (just as all the "regular" MEGOs aren't everyone's cup of tea...) Myself, I'd rather own the Mexican APES figures that the TEEN TITANS... It's just a matter of personal tastes...

My question is why are the Cipsas so close to Mego (body/head mold design wise), while the Ledys have ....shall we say a "unique" look, similar to Mego...but not exact.

Plastimarx used to receive their mold designs from Marx Toys, so their (Marx anyways) stuff always looked darned close to the Canada/US product. Main differences being plastics used, and sometimes dsylexic paint jobs.Clearly, Cipsa had access to Mego molds in a similar fashion. Ledys...did Mego have any involvement in the designs....or did they just license the "look" to this company?
