The new stuff is actually light years ahead of stuff that was released years ago in terms of detail, deco, and articulation.

And Hasbro's recent BIG vehicle and spaceship offerings are a really brave and bold move for them.

I for one applaud their products in the STAR WARS line. I am only an Original Trilogy character, vehicle, and playset collector, but the offerings have been quite good... some a LOT better than others.

Of course, my opinion on all this is not exactly objective. My STAR WARS toy collection room is now bursting at the seams, and I haven't really slowed my weekly additions to the collection.

I'm glad that you still find them great, that's the important thing. Collect what you love.
I just think that something like a white Darth Vader is kind of the last straw for me.
Don't get me wrong, I stil collect SW. Some of the Sideshows (not all), some Kotobukiyas (the bounty hunters are great), still trying to get my hands on a large wing TIE fighter (finally in correct proportions!).

I have been, and always will be, a SW fan.
But just because some exec decides to put an item out here, doesn't mean I have to accept it as true SW.
      I like my Vaders black...
      And so do I.

THAT'S why the last two Vaders I bought were
the "classic style" Vaders----heck, one was just released a few weeks ago.

Your posts here only make sense if you're overly sensitive
      to what Hasbro releases.

Hasbro has been releasing better and better versions of
classic characters for years....and you're ALLOWED to
pick and choose what you buy.

And in scenarios like the recent Yarna (Jabba's Fat Dancer) release
----the FIRST version release of a classic character has become
available (and I think the figure is AWESOME).

Hasbro doesn't have a gun to your head.

I say give Hasbro props for releasing stuff that you DO like.
Complaining about stuff you have no interest in seems pretty pointless
---when the simple answer is: Don't buy it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting this thread - or opinion at all. It is a talking point - sharing opinions. Just writing it off as complaining is completely insensative and drastically wrong.

Same thought as often posted and you implied - if you don't agree with a thread - don't read it - but don't put people down for starting it or sharing their thoughts and feelings about something they care about. I am shocked at you Hue.

          I've done a lot worse...so don't be shocked

Seriously though....his posts in this thread make no sense to me...
he's complaining about Hasbro releasing stuff he doesn't want
when they actually MAKE stuff that meets his expectations/qualifications
as far as I've understood so far.

That's TWO big reasons for the confusion.

OK. . .so I wasn't shocked. . .more mildly amused!

I remember something about a pink Darth Vader somewhere - may have been a You-Tube Video or something - anyone remember what that was - sure I saw it on the old board about 3 years ago.

It is like me with Bat Figures. . . once they start just changing the colours so you have to buy irrelevant variants. . .it is just about the money and not the LOVE of the subject matter. . . and that is just really sad isn't it?

You know, I think we're in complete agreement, actually.
Buy what you like, skip what you don't.

I wasn't aware I couldn't comment on what I don't like-and as I see it a lot of new Hasbro SW is not pleasing to my eye, and say what I do (Kotos, Sideshows,..), and the new TIE fighter...
              I just don't like 95 % of Hasbro's new stuff.
              And you do.

Thank God, otherwise we'd have to fight each other over it.

But ALL this stuff is about money Aussie---it always has been.
                BUT...
Once you start declaring the "line" on what's "legit" here, it's a slippery slope.

There's a kid out there who is gonna LOVE that pink Vader---
and that's who Hasbro is shooting for.

If you're one of those obsessive adult collectors that
"needs" every variant to feel "complete" and hold Hasbro
                responsible for ruining your day...well....yeah...
I guess I find that silly.

                Don't get me wrong---
Hasbro would be glad to take your money too
(just like the toy-loving kids), but...um...they
don't have that "gun to your head" I mentioned
in the earlier post---so that's where my issue
                lies with the complaints.

If I was an obsessive adult toy collector with a compulsion
that I can't understand....well, then maybe I'd be posting differently

Hey---no harm fighting is all good

BTW----if your original post would've read more like the one you just made
---I'm sure I wouldn't have been so compelled to be contradictory, etc.

                  It's all good.

And, yeah, I think a lot of companies make better STAR WARS stuff
                  than Hasbro--
but then again, those companies are more high-end in general, I'd say.

                      Hello!
I don't need to "collect them all" and I don't.
                      Haven't for years.

But since you obviously have shares in the Hasbro Company, I'll no longer rain on your parade, OK?
I'll also stop breathing, while I'm at it.

But granted, maybe the title of my first post might have caused some "friction".

I have to admit---it was kinda a "rain on my parade" scenario
as I decided to recently buy some of the newer figures
as I had stopped collecting----mainly to save money back in 1998.

But when I saw all the IMPROVEMENTS made in ten years on
classic characters----well, I just broke down and started dabbling again.

Your thread here and your original post in it seemed the antithesis
of my impression of the line at this time----so, yeah---I was at ya
                        with "all guns firing"

And if you're not the "collect 'em all" type, then okay----but my post
regarding that was more squarely directed at Aussie ---

                        Speaking of which---

Yes it is funny that Aussie "admits" he wants that pink Vader---
whether he's joking or not---it's a legitimate desire

EDITED TO ADD that I saw YOUR "friction" edit Gorn---
