I haven't bought much of the new stuff for the past few years. I recently got one of the new white TIE fighters from TRU because I like the larger scale wings, and I'm waiting for the new Millennium Falcon to go on clearance. I've seen enough of these sitting around that I feel like this will happen.
I seen a big display with the new Falcons not long ago. I was so tempted to pick up a couple. Then I thought the same way you did about them eventually winding up on clearance and decided to wait it out a bit longer. I have seen this happen before as well and will more than likely happen again if history continues to repeat itself. I am ok about it for now until I pass by the display again then I get the hebee g-b's and going into fear of loss mode if I do not buy now. The other good thing that saved me was my gf was with me and we were in a two seater sports car so they would not have fit in the car anyway. For some reason I do not think that my gf would be down with waiting at the store until I got back to pick her up after dropping the falcons off at the house.
Hello!
I don't need to "collect them all" and I don't.
Haven't for years.
But since you obviously have shares in the Hasbro Company, I'll no longer rain on your parade, OK?
I'll also stop breathing, while I'm at it.
I have to admit---it was kinda a "rain on my parade" scenario
as I decided to recently buy some of the newer figures
as I had stopped collecting----mainly to save money back in 1998.
But when I saw all the IMPROVEMENTS made in ten years on
classic characters----well, I just broke down and started dabbling again.
Your thread here and your original post in it seemed the antithesis
of my impression of the line at this time----so, yeah---I was at ya
with "all guns firing"
And if you're not the "collect 'em all" type, then okay----but my post
regarding that was more squarely directed at Aussie ---
Speaking of which---
Yes it is funny that Aussie "admits" he wants that pink Vader---
whether he's joking or not---it's a legitimate desire
EDITED TO ADD that I saw YOUR "friction" edit Gorn---
Peace and the Force be with you
If you're one of those obsessive adult collectors that
"needs" every variant to feel "complete" and hold Hasbro
responsible for ruining your day...well....yeah...
I guess I find that silly.
If I was an obsessive adult toy collector with a compulsion
that I can't understand....well, then maybe I'd be posting differently

But granted, maybe the title of my first post might have caused some "friction".
Peace!
You know, I think we're in complete agreement, actually.
Buy what you like, skip what you don't.
I wasn't aware I couldn't comment on what I don't like-and as I see it a lot of new Hasbro SW is not pleasing to my eye, and say what I do (Kotos, Sideshows,..), and the new TIE fighter...
I just don't like 95 % of Hasbro's new stuff.
And you do.
Thank God, otherwise we'd have to fight each other over it.
Hey---no harm fighting is all good
BTW----if your original post would've read more like the one you just made
---I'm sure I wouldn't have been so compelled to be contradictory, etc.
It's all good.
And, yeah, I think a lot of companies make better STAR WARS stuff
than Hasbro--
but then again, those companies are more high-end in general, I'd say.
OK. . .so I wasn't shocked. . .more mildly amused!
I remember something about a pink Darth Vader somewhere - may have been a You-Tube Video or something - anyone remember what that was - sure I saw it on the old board about 3 years ago.
It is like me with Bat Figures. . . once they start just changing the colours so you have to buy irrelevant variants. . .it is just about the money and not the LOVE of the subject matter. . . and that is just really sad isn't it?
But ALL this stuff is about money Aussie---it always has been.
BUT...
Once you start declaring the "line" on what's "legit" here, it's a slippery slope.
There's a kid out there who is gonna LOVE that pink Vader---
and that's who Hasbro is shooting for.
If you're one of those obsessive adult collectors that

responsible for ruining your day...well....yeah...

Don't get me wrong---
Hasbro would be glad to take your money too
(just like the toy-loving kids), but...um...they
don't have that "gun to your head" I mentioned
in the earlier post---so that's where my issue
lies with the complaints.
If I was an obsessive adult toy collector with a compulsion
that I can't understand....well, then maybe I'd be posting differently
Your posts here only make sense if you're overly sensitive
to what Hasbro releases.
Hasbro has been releasing better and better versions of
classic characters for years....and you're ALLOWED to
pick and choose what you buy.
Hasbro doesn't have a gun to your head.
I say give Hasbro props for releasing stuff that you DO like.
Complaining about stuff you have no interest in seems pretty pointless
---when the simple answer is: Don't buy it.
You know, I think we're in complete agreement, actually.
