I watched the Ready Room on the season finale, and was pleasantly surprised to learn much of the effects were practical, with some CGI smoothing. No wonder it actually looked good! The blending of the two is the best, in my opinion. You can never beat practical effects, if it's plausible to do. So many productions go out of their way to use CGI when they don't have to. I'm not a CGI hater, but Hollywood seems to have regressed, not moved forward with it in the past few years. It often looks lazy. SNW is doing it right.
