Hmmmm....
I kinda hated EVERYTHING about the Fox Doctor.... although I suspect most of that was the script. They tried WAY too hard on everything, and ended up maiking a really generic sci-fi show. The Master included: he turns into a CGI liquid metal snake, 'cos EVERYTHING turned into liquid metal at that time. Then he turned into Arnie, like EVERYONE did at that time.
Meh.
>I'm not all that fond of the new master. Too pumped-up, too much of a joker, and not enough cool and collected.
I really liked him BECAUSE he was so... unhinged. He'd been thwarted time and time again by the Doctor; who comes across as a total clown but wins ANYWAY! That sort of thing would make you wacky. Sorta like why the Daleks wanted more human-ness: to gain some of that ephimeral something that lets their most hated foe beat them every time for no good reason. (Well; we know it's usually aarogance that does the Master and Daleks in, but they wouldn't see it that way.)
