Will there be a Star Wars episode 7?

The release of Indiana Jones 4 got me thinking. Could we see Harrison Ford along with Mark Hamill in a Star Wars episode 7. Wouldn't that be cool.

Imagine Luke SkyWalker as a yoda like Jedi Master and Harrison Ford as a high ranking commander of the old rebel forces. They could resurrect Darth Maul as the opposing master of the Sith Lords. Man, i'd go and see that.

I'd love to see that, but I think the only way we would ,would be with Computer generated characters maybe using the real actors voice

Yeah. The Timothy Zahn Trilogy was supposed to be the official ending Trilogy. (eg Heir to the Empire, Dark Froce Rising, The Last Command). I think those stories would rely on the actors being much younger than they currently are. So, I doubt that any of those titles would be made into movies. I guess if George decides to change what is canon...

Maybe if they write it so they are in wheel-chairs thru most of the film.

Lucas has said repeatedly (and as recently as two months ago) that there is simply no story beyond the death of Darth Vader. To him, the Saga was about the Skywalker Family, particularly Anakin, and with his death -- and the extinction of the Sith -- there is no worthy continuation of the tale.

Meanwhile we've got the Clone Wars CGI animated film in August, the ensuing CW TV show, and the live-action TV series in 2010. There's plenty to keep us SW fans excited!

              I hope not.
Wish there wasn't a 1, 2 and 3...Wish they just took all the good bits
from those movies and made 1 movie.

The TV show could be interesting.

If Lucas is going to write it,then I'd have to say no.

Lucas is currently working on the Clone Wars movie and animated TV series. It won't have many if any of the original characters in it. He has told the story he wanted and that was about the Anakin family. From his start to his death.

I can only agree with Lucas here to be honest...much as I love Star Wars....with the prequals done it is a complete story...and the extras we are getting like clone wars, tv series etc are a bonus really....I think if they did go on they would only make the series poorer....loved the "Hier" series but dont think they would make good movies.

As cool as it might be to see those old friends again, I have to agree with most everyone here that the STAR WARS Saga should remain as the existing 6-Espidoes and not go beyond that.

Continuing the story beyond the grand climax of STAR WARS Episode VI: Return of the Jedi would just seem like a comedian who continues to speak after the huge punchline of his best joke.

Hey, there's plenty of story left after Jedi. Here's how I see it: Luke is training a new generation of Jedi, helped by Leia, who's learning about her own Jedi skills.
Anarchy rules in the galaxy after the fall of the Empire. Bands of renegade Imperial troops roam the galaxy, forming their own private militia.
Bounty hunters have formed alliances, led by a seriously-damaged-but-very-much-alive Boba Fett. They try to become the new enforcers of the galaxy.
The life force of the Emperor has been transferred into a new clone body at his secret facility. This new young Emperor will play out all groups against each other. He is assisted by Darth Maul, who has cybernetic legs, grafted onto him as he was saved by the Emperor (much like Vader was). Maul leads a squad of his own race, skilled and ruthless fighters.

General Solo will be far away on a mission, because Harrison Ford has joined the League of Boring Old Farts.

But that's only my take on it. I'm actually writing this story for my own personal amusement. I doubt it'll ever see the light of day, but for me, SW episode 7 is still very much a possibility, once I influence old George with my Jedi mind skills.
"Yes, George, this IS the story you're looking for...."
"It's up for sale, if you want it...."
                              .
                              .
                              .
"When things are at their darkest, it's a brave man that can kick back and party."
