Oh man, I would totally watch a show about Number 1! I always liked the look of the original pilot costumes and sets. If that's where they going visually, I'm in.

    sounds promising!
    * While Fuller and “Star Trek Into Darkness” screenwriter Alex Kurtzman wrote the first hour of “Star Trek: Discovery,” the second hour was scripted by Nicholas Meyer ("Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”).

Someday, when people wonder how the "big networks" squandered a 20 million viewer audience to become completely irrelevant... this will be Exhibit A.

oh well, that was the only way they were going to get me to watch it. I read it was streaming there in the same article with the MST3K news for Netflix. Guess they got it wrong. Hope its better than Next Gen, that was like watching paint dry.

While the new Star Trek series will air on CBS in the USA and Canada, Netflix is now set to stream the series, episode by episode, in 188 other countries.

From what I understood it was only available on Netflix outside the U.S. I could be wrong though, but I heard the Netflix rumor at a show I was at in July, checked around and someone informed me the deal Netflix made for it was only for subscribers outside the U.S. The source has been reliable, but I haven't been able to verify it beyond him though.

CBS All Access' new series "Star Trek: Discovery" faces challenges, including serialization and a platform with a monthly fee and ads.

That reminds me of an excellent TNG episode where the story featured the perspective of a group of young, unknown ensigns..

Junior officers speculate on the reasons for recent unusual actions taken by the command crew near the Cardassian border.
