The Kim Manners tombstone was a nice touch too.

    Great episode...

I gotta say I loved this episode, at points it was just laugh out loud funny. For me, the standalone monster of the week shows are always so much better than the "secret conspiracy" eps.
This revival is excellent, from the classic opening that they were wise enough not update to the nods to fans such as this episode. I'd certainly love to see them continue doing small mini runs like this to keep the quality going. Similar to the British model of series not seasons.

Finally got a chance to watch Monday night's episode "Home Again," and, wow, what an emotional gut punch that was!! Gillian Anderson really nailed it tonight, bringing emotional gravitas and depth rarely seen even on some high-end dramas. I felt her pain as she watched her mother slip away and her despair as they wheeled her out of the room. I'm glad Mulder was there to provide emotional support when Scully needed it most.

This week's creature was interesting and it felt a little like a take on a golem.

I am so glad that I have X-FILES to look forward to on Monday nights; I'm just sad it only has two more episodes. With any luck, we'll see another six episodes next year...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Chris Carter is already talking about continuing and that he would find it hard to believe Fox would not be interested.....now we have to see if Duchovny and Anderson are interested or not. the weremonster spisode was a little off I thought, although it had it's moments. the past two episodes were really great though. I am curious to see where they are going with the whole William angle.

Well, they left it hanging in the end...

All in all, a riot having them back… Agent Reyes even returned ala Smokey-lackey. Coolness!

              There's this floating about:

You know, I honestly did not have episode six completely worked out [when we started]. There are two other people credited with the story, Dr. Anne Simon and Dr. Margaret Fearon, and I had been talking to them about the science of the show. Anne has been the science adviser since the beginning, really, and I'd let her read the first episode. She kept talking to me about this cutting edge genomic science and how it might be used. I was directing episode four, which aired as episode five, and I still didn't know how the series would end. I came up with it in the middle of that episode. In terms of prepping for the finale, I was very late. The X-Files traditionally ended with a cliffhanger, and we didn't want to do anything different. This just happens to be a very big cliffhanger. I have an idea of where the story goes.

Carter said Fox wants more episodes of the show. It's just a matter of when. "Right now I've got another project that I want to do first," he said. "So, for me, it's just a matter of trying to do (The X-Files) when it makes sense and not try to shoehorn something or hit a schedule."

I thought the ending was a very strange place to end considering there is no commitment from anyone to do another season

Hated the last episode...by far the worst of this six part series...just ridiculous.

i didn't hate it, it was building momentum to something good but then just ended. for a show with now commitment for another season, that is not a good place to end it. of course they could be bull****ting us and have another season already in the works

Just watched this last night , Wow that was the mother of all cliffhangers. What happens now? we wait for them to have a pow wow, if they are going to continue. I think this 6 episode season was just a pilot, to see if there is any new interest.

i think you are right Alex. I think they wanted to test the water and see whether the concept was still relevant today. they also wanted to introduce yound Mulder and Scully to see if they could branch off without Duchovny and Anderson
