It seems that common issue people have with the movie is that it is too much like the 1977 movie, plot-wise, along with some of the elements of the sequels thrown in. Too much fan-service, imo. Plus I hear people mention that the movie is pretty much a remake/reboot, more or less.

Well it is a JJ Abrams picture after all. That's sort of what he does.

honestly, although I agree he was a terrible choice for Anakin and can't act his way out of a box, having him appear as the spirit would be a nice way to bring the 3 trilogy's together
