^Yes, I give ST: TOS credit for trying many non-humanoid aliens. I like the Melkotian & Tholian. The Horta is superb, & even the "fail" of the marionettes in Catspaw are interesting.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Like the aborted AmWest playset! That and the WOz Witch's castle seem ideal "parallel earth" Trek playsets.

Just wanted to add, in The Savage Curtain, would it of been better if instead of Lincoln they used
George Washington? General soldier, father of our country, and President #1, might have been a
better choice for a team up with Kirk since he was a fighting man, JMO, with no offense to Lincoln,
maybe they thought Lincoln was a more popular choice?

But Washington was from New England, Lincoln from the same area Kirk grew up.

Not sure how much of a physical man Washington was.

Seemed like in most of his battles he was always on a horse and giving orders.

Personally, If I was Kirk I would have wished for an American Indian Warrior for help (especially for hand to hand combat) -- someone like Geronimo or Crazy Horse

I thought the Excalbian picked those guys (Surak and Lincoln) because they were the most admired in Spock and Kirk's minds.
They didn't really choose them, nor were either of them men of combat, although Lincoln seemed scrappy in his way.
I like the 3rd season, I think it's very underrated, whereas the 1st season might be overrated at times.
My personal best are Spectre of the Gun, Day of the Dove, Whom Gods Destroy, Let That Be Your Last Battlefield, and All Our Yesterdays.

                I agree.

Life could be anything and take many shapes. It could look like something never dreamed of by anyone. I like that TOS was very creative.

I have to put The Savage Curtain up there cause it was the first Trek episode I ever saw. So I hold an extra bit of nostalgia for it.

All Our Yesterdays is a personal favorite not only because I really like the episode, but because I have read quite a few of the Trek books and there is a book titled "Yesterday's Son" where Spock discovers that Zarabeth gave birth to his son after they left. Spock, Kirk and McCoy get permission to use the Guardian of Forever to travel back in time to rescue the son. Great book.

Read that. I feel Uhura's Song and Final Reflection were better.

My biggest problem with the Savage Curtain was it had some huge plot-holes.

The biggest one was the Excalbian's have no knowledge of good and evil...

So they pick some people from Kirk and Spock's mind to do battle.

During almost all of the conversations the Excalbian's seem the most interested when their own people (in disguise speak) --- Lincoln, Surak etc.

It's like Kirk and Spock have been relegated to background spectators.

So, why did the Excalbian's even bother doing this ?

The information they wanted is already in their fellow Excalbian's minds.

BTW, conclusion --- Evil shall always win because good is dumb.

Have you read "Ishmael"? That is my favorite. I also like "Double Double" which is a sequel to the TOS episode "What are Little Girls Made Of?" Another good read.

I watched this one last night. It has its plot holes but it is notable for the incredible performance of Lincoln (I'm not sure DDL did it any better) As well as the appearance of Surak. Which gives insight into Vulcan culture.

When Spock spoke of eating animal flesh and liking it I knew exactly what he ment.
