Yeah. They took the character of Barbara and made her Susan's sister, or something, instead of her teacher. And the Susan character was very young rather than a teenager.

I don't fault Cushing at all as an actor in these flicks. He makes a very good Doctor. They just came off to me as being a vehicle to keep the Dalekmania band wagon going rather than attempting to make a big-screen adaptation of the show. If I had only seen the films and not the TV series, I would probably think they were really good. They just, for me, pale by comparison.

      I actually liked Cushing's Doctor.

He very much reminded me of Patrick Troughton's portrayal (which came afterward)

Did Pat watch the Cushing movies ?

Cushing was actually the first "cool" Doctor

Hartnell was GREAT, but he was COLD as hell.
      Not like any other Doctor--
      Even Colin was more fun

Thats because he was the 1st Dr
        He was cold though.
Agreed that Patrick Troughton was like Cushing's Dr,they both seemed sort of eccentric.

Thanks drwhofan74 i forgot he had 2 daughters in the movie

This was done before but is good enough to do again....so....
          1. Pat Troughton
          2. Tom Baker
          3. Sylvester McCoy
          4. Christopher Eccleston
          5. William Hartnell
          6. David Tennant
          7. Jon Pertwee
          8. Peter Davison
          9. Colin Baker (more let down by scripts/costume/producer than anything else...very good in audio dramas though)
          10. Paul McGann (only 1 story to judge him on if not counting audios)

Sarah Jane Smith...shall always love her for ever and ever

Tom Baker here. The first Who I saw was the first of Tom's episodes. It's hard for anyone to measure up to those (even Tom, himself, in later seasons).

I've been watching some Patrick Troughton episodes...he was a great Doctor.
Shame so many of his episodes are still missing.
I like the cartoon versions though. Wish Cosgrove Hall would make more.

The Cushing movies were just re-writes of the first 2 Dalek stories and were made to cash in on their popularity.

It's interesting that the current tardis interior looks like a blend of the TV and Cushing Tardis interiors.

Well, here are my least favourite ones:
                  Peter Davison (not enough backbone)
                  William Hartnell (too grumpy!)
Christopher Eccleston(not long enough as the Doctor, and he only had two expressions: extactic or serious, and nothing in between, the manic-depressive Doctor)
                  Paul McGann(doesn't really count)

I hope that Tennant stays on, but let's face it: he'll probably exit after season 4.

My vote for the next one: Adrian Lester!(from Hustle)
It's time for a black Doctor!

                  What do you guys think?
