    Who's your Favorite Dr. Who?

Time to start a new topic. Our favorite Time Lord (Well unless you root for the Master) has had many incarnations. Which one is your favorite? This includes the movies with Peter Crushing and the Spoof Curse of the Fatal Death with Rowan Atkinson. He burns through several lives including Hugh Grant and finally end up being a woman Joanna Lumley to eventually hook up with/beat the Master. ( I got to see this some time. Sounds hilarious)

Well my first Doctor was Peter Crushing in the movies. I next got to see him on public TV starting with the John Pertwee episodes. Next were The Tom Bakers and for the longest time I would have to say he was my favorite time lord. But what can I say Christopher Eccleson gives him a run for his money.

I love Chris's darker more edgy attitude. Well that and he actually gets to hook up with Rose. ( Yeah I know Tom actually married La La Ward but nothing happened between them on the show) David Tennants OK he's starting to win me over..... but right now I'd have to say my favorite is Chris Eccelson..... Sorry Tom.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

John Pertwee certainly had style. And he probably was one of the most "Physical" Doctors. I mean he'd sword fight in one episode. He'd karate chop and flip some alien in another. He'd actually be out there rolling around in that quarry they always filmed in.

He even got run over by a hover craft in one show.

And no fake card board sets for him. he was actually outside driving that yellow car "Bessy" or the Who mobile or a hover craft....... Hovercrafts are sooo cool.

I liked him but he just couldn't compete with the Great Scarfed one.

        1) Tom Baker by far!
        2) Tennant
        3) Davison
        4) McCoy
        5) Pertwee

I am with kirk though, I tend to change my favs a bit after the first two. I really like each of them for their own reasons. Although we don't get to see much on screen, the way McGann's Doctor is represented in the novels is really kewl. He seems to be the most spiritual of all the Doctors. Plus, he would eventually take on a dark side that would lead to his actions in the Time War. I would like to see/read that! (at least I am assuming the 8th Doctor pulled the trigger since The Doctor is admiring his new regeneration in the first Eccleston episode as if it were the first time he had seen his face.)

I always liked the Peter Davidson version. I thought the writing was sharp during that time and to be the follow up to all of the years Baker was the Doctor, he was able to bring a different touch.
          It's all good!

Jon Pertwee. He always stayed cool, calm and collected in any situation. And then Tom Baker, followed by Patrick Troughton.

There is a belief that your fave doctor is the one you grew up with so with this in mind mine would be Jon Pertwee.

Most of my memories of Who are this era with U.N.I.T. , Jo Grant, Sarah Jane.

My god it seems so long ago, like it must have been someone else's life.

Tom Baker introduced me to Dr who on PBS here in the states but as I saw more of them the pertwee years became my favorites. Now that I have finally seen the few Troughtons that are avaialble I think he has pushed Tom to third for me, but it's a close race between 2nd and 3rd.

Curious has anybody seen "The curse of the Fatal Death" How was it?

Also no mention of the Peter crushing movies. I figured they'd at least get a mention.

Im also surprised on how many people liked the first and second doctors considering they got very little TV viewing state side.

What about the new Doctor movie? Sure Paul Mcgann didnt really get a chance to really fill out the role but I think the movie was significant.

Also I'm with Spock Fan. I had a crush on Romana. (La La Ward) Leela looked good in animal skins but I just had a thing for Romana. well that is until Rose Taylor came around. Thats fodder for another thread..... Whos your favorite Who companion......

I have only seen the Eccleston and Tennant versions...

I've been thinking of backtracking the series through some of the other Doctor's...

                          A good place to start??

In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones.
