I would suggest Tom Baker's "Robot", Paul

Robot has the best of both worlds .....

It has U.N.I.T, Sarah Jane, Tom Baker --- and even a monster that was made into a Mego
And, it's only 4 episodes (about 90 mins) so it's not boring because of time.

It's Tom Baker's first story --- as a matter of fact, Jon Pertwee regenerates into Tom at the beginning.

    Go for "Robot"

Also no mention of the Peter crushing movies. I figured they'd at least get a mention.

Im also surprised on how many people liked the first and second doctors considering they got very little TV viewing state side.

What about the new Doctor movie? Sure Paul Mcgann didnt really get a chance to really fill out the role but I think the movie was significant.

Also I'm with Spock Fan. I had a crush on Romana. (La La Ward) Leela looked good in animal skins but I just had a thing for Romana. well that is until Rose Taylor came around. Thats fodder for another thread..... Whos your favorite Who companion......
I'm not a huge fan of the Cushing movies. They seem to have been made by someone who had never seen the TV show. (I still really have a problem with him introducing himself as "Doctor Who" as if it were his name.) I am also with Spockfan, Mary Tamm is still the most beautiful companion ever... followed by Nicola Bryant... (bearing in mind that beauty does not necessarily a good compainion make. Peri is still pretty low on my list of favs... but Nicola was and still is absolutely beautiful.)

          The Cushing movies ....

He could have used the name "Doctor Who" as a disguise... Not unlike Jon Perwee calling himself "John Smith"

When you really think about it, it sounds very likely...
"Who" is not exactly a British sounding name ...

          For most smashing looking companion.....
My top list would be .......

          1. Zoe
          2. Jo Grant
          3. Peri
          4. Romana-2
          5. Sarah Jane
          6. Nyssa
          7. Leela
          8. Liz (especially when she wore a short skirt)
          9. Vicki
          10 . Susan

See thats the way I saw it too. I dont know alot about The 1st doctors back story. I know like the movie Doctor he had a grandaughter. I figured when he first came to earth he hooked up with someone and decided to stay and had a family. Then he would have needed to have a last name to blend in. And that would be the most logical anyway. Hi I'm the Doctor..... Dr "Who"??? Yeah sure go with that.

Didn't he have two grand daughters in the movies one was very young and the other was like in her 20's?

Tom Baker. He was scary looking to me as a kid and the music was too, they went hand in hand. I loved watching that show with my dad when I was little.

It's really funny if you know some of the Doctor's history. I actually thought Rowan Atkinson did a great job as the Doctor; and wouldn't mind seeing him play the part for real.

                              Favorite Doctor / Companion

My Favorite Doctor - Wonderful Chap ..... All of them !
They all bring something good to the role, but who you saw first usually rules.
                              1 Tom Baker
                              2 Sylvester McCoy
                              3 David Tennet
                              4 Jon Pertwee

                              Companion
1 Ace - she is just too much Fun
2 Leela - ditto and sexier
                              3 Peri - a Babe and a half
4 Romana - Mary Tamm , elegant and Beautiful

Cushing movies were fun and camp like 60's Batman
Curse was a modern camp but the actors were good in it.
you want to watch all of Doctor Who go ahead and pick a storyfrom any and see how they are.
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom
