I'm the life of every Christmas party these days 'cause of a certain neat-o card set...

The cards are one of the best marketing tools I've ever seen. Really hits the old fans right in the heart.

^^^ Yep. This is looking fun! They have the right idea, I think.

yeah, JJ's marketing people are really hitting the nostalgia angle, as they should. I am hoping this is a good sign for the movie.

I just came across Saturday Night Live's take on the trailer.

"Saturday Night Live" added its own parody of the trailer for "Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens," with guest host James Franco playing an aged Luke Skywalker who needs force's help just to organize his daily pills.

You know, I don't have any bad feelings towards Lucas.
He gave us a couple of classics, and then got lost along the way, much like Peter Jackson, IMO. I loved the LOTR trilogy, but I thought the Hobbit ranged from ok to downright boring.
I guess it's the fate of becoming a powerful movie maker. They necome addicted (and blind) to their toys.
"He's more machine than man now," Kenobi said, and that's how I feel about most of the genre movie makers.

With his kind of money (and his age) I think Lucas is more or less done with Hollywood. I don't blame him. If I were that rich, I'd keep my mouth shut and laugh all the way to the bank...

He better be SOME kind of smart and only "weigh" if it's positive, or not weigh at all---if he doesn't want to earn Hollywood elite's scorn. You don't do a billion dollar deal with Disney and then knock on their first big offering.... no matter how bad it might (or might not) be.
