There are some high points, but in the end I found the movie an incomprehensible mess. I seriously doubt it will down in history as a classic like 2001. Nonetheless, I liked the robots. Also- too many plot holes. Too much exposition. Didn't care much about the characters. The visual effects were excellent and probably will win an Academy award. The movie works in fits and starts. In the end, it left me cold, not unlike Inception. One thing I do recommend for anyone going to see this movie: BRING EAR PLUGS. The sound is HORRIBLE. The score is overbearing and drowns out a lot of the dialogue. So much of the dialogue is hard to hear. Even when Michael Caine was on his death bed, I couldn't hear or understand what he said. But some of the explosions are just too loud (especially when Matt Damon meets his demise). Murky sound, too much bass. If you miss the film in the theaters and wait for blu-ray, I suggest turning on the captions.

The deaths of a characters in a film are clearly spoiler material, particularly one portrayed by an unpublicized actor who is a major star. In the grand scheme of the film, the deaths may be minor, but I would have preferred not knowing going in.Comment

Sorry. But if watch the movie, you'll realize what I revealed here are rather minor 'spoilers' and in the end won't ruin the movie for you. If I had revealed twists in the plot and the ending, then I can understand people getting upset about not being warned about spoilers in advance.Last edited by acrovader; Nov 8, '14, 12:13 PM.I am more than machine. As for the movie itself, it's absolutely fantastic!!!
Everything about it is top notch, from acting to SPFX to editing and directing.
It's exciting, emotional and intelligent. When I went to see it, people in the movie theatre were literally on the edge of their seats, and every time you think you've seen the most impressive part, Nolan takes it up another notch. Some real surprises, too.
I won't spoil anything. Just go see this movie!
I would say it's the best movie I've seen in a decade, nothing like Gravity, which was a loud, overacted mess that just had some big names attached.
If only Arthur C. Clarke could have seen this.....

I thought it was fine. Buying into the story took some serious leaps of logic that nearly ruined it for my wife and I. The sci-fi stuff was great but the character interactions left me cold.Mortui Vivos Docent
