OK we duked it out over Trek and Star Wars now I ask....Which do you prefer the classic Galactica or the reimagined Galactica?

For me, hands down, its the new series.... Better written, better effects, the documentary style filming, sex, actually dangerous Cylons, sex, real world problems, sex

No Contest - New one.

The old BSG gave us "human interest" type stories set in space that were resolved in the course of an hour. Apollo and Starbuck were essentially police officers who solved whatever the problem was for the specific episode. It was akin to rescuing kittens out of trees. There really wasn't much of a backstory to most of the characters. In a nutshell it was a nice show but it was "fluff".

The new BSG is more about the survival of mankind. The characters have more depth and personality. It's dark, gritty and pure chaos as a civilization would be after it's nearly been destroyed and now on the run from its would be destroyers. It's a game of chess where every action has a reaction. Instead of the cat in the tree, the Cylons are the cat playing with a human mouse; teasing, tormenting and thinking of ways to devour it.

New one. Also love the fact the robot versions of the Cylons are like Terminators. Throw in the fact you've got human looking Cylons so you don't know who among you is friend or foe.

I'll have to go old style. I just couldn't get into Starbuck as a girl, even though she is hot and when it came out I actually thought making cylons human was a cheap cop out to keep from having to supply so many robot props so I just haven't been able to get into the new one.

I enjoy both actually, there are qualities that each series has that the other doesn't share. I think it's funny that fans of the old series have so much venom for the new.

I prefer the classic series. i gave up on the new one 2 weeks before the 1st season finale. I think there are many attractive people( Male and female) in the show but so does 1 tree hill (which my wife loves) and I'm not gonna watch that either.

Personally I don't consider myself venomous towards the new show,I just couldn't get into it is all.Who knows maybe in reruns I might but for now Old one is for me.It wasn't great but it was cool.

I disagree, fans of the new are often dismissive but I find it's the classic fans who get the most worked up and seem kind of bitter.
