When "Star Wars" came out in was THE theater in the area and a triplex,by the time of "Revenge of the Sith" is was an "outdated" Tenplex and two years away from being closed to make way for "better" theater attached to shopping mall in the area.
I have it as a 8 track tape

It's so odd to see that trailer and hear none of Williams' score.

Even though I was deemed too young to see it on it's initial release, no kid could escape it's influence. Happy Birthday!

The first SW merchandise I had as a kid was trading cards and the jumbo Marvel Super Special. I remember it seemed like an eternity waiting for the Kenner figures after seeing this.

The first SW figure I got was Leia.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Same here. The Topps trading cards and the first few Marvel issues, followed by the treasury editions, were some of the first SW items I ever got too, along with the original novelization.

First merchandise I had was the Escape From Death Star board game. That and one of the early t-shirts. SW was the first PG rated movie that my parents allowed me to see. That was kind of a big deal for me back then.
