I also think that Ford won't want to stick around for a large part in three movies.
Honestly, I was amazed he signed on at all. They must have dangled a whole pile of credits in front of his nose, because he has spent the last 30 years clearly stating that SW was over for him.
So I'd say kill him off in a meaningful way, and let's not reduce his part to "I'm sitting in the Senate, reading a newspaper".
It doesn't have to be a heroic death. Getting stabbed in the back by a Sith Lord would be dramatic enough.
Accidentally taking a header in a trash compactor would be entertaining as well, of course...
And no, Chewie doesn't have to die with him. Give the furry one a break!

I think it is safe to assume that if any major character gets killed off, at least in this film, it would be Han. No doubt about it. I hope Han is around for all three sequels, but I can't see it happening. Harrison Ford was adamant that Han should die at the end of Return of the Jedi, and Lawrence Kasdan agreed with him. Knowing that Harrison has distanced himself from Star Wars over the years, I can see him agreeing to one movie, on the condition that Han dies. And if that being so, how would Han die? Heroically, nonetheless, and perhaps on the Falcon with Chewbacca by his side. Both of them die side by side. I can't see them keeping the Chewbacca character around for the other 2 movies without Han. And I wonder that maybe the Falcon isn't completely destroyed that it could be repaired, with a new crew, obviously for the 2 sequels.Leave a comment:

Really excited about this! While this is the "official cast" I have to think it's to bring people in. New younger characters will be introduced that will carry on most of the action. As far as Han dying, if died heroically, I'm not sure complaining would be justified. People die in the SW films. Actually depending on what direction I could see Luke dying at some point being the Ben figure in these films.Leave a comment:

^ See kids, THAT is why Princess Leia's voice sounds funny now. Don't smoke.

I have to admit that as much as I'd like to say that I think that Disney wouldn't limit themselves like that... it actually IS a pretty convincing theory in the context of the very first film released.
I'm kinda split about killing any major player in ANY of the films though.
I'd like to think that 2 or 3 of them would die by the time the trilogy was over... it'd have huge dramatic impact, AND it would neatly mirror Ben's death, Yoda's death, and Vader's death (not to mention others that didn't really play as big a part in the saga story as those 6 mentioned).Leave a comment:

I believe your hypothesis is 100% accurate. I'd even not be surprised if the reason that photo is black and white is because they photoshopped something here or there and it may've been easier to hide that the photo had been altered.Lucas is probably there, standing outside the photo. However, I think there's deliberate reason why they didn't have Lucas somewhere in the photo. I think they think the presence of Lucas would be viewed as a bad omen by some people and they want to distance themselves from whatever previous "fiascoes" and 'move forward'. I'm sure he'll be lurking in the wings during production. Probably closer to the film's release, he'll make more public appearances.Leave a comment:
