    New/Ancient. Hope/Fear.
I always liked the title "LOSS OF FAITH" or "LOSING FAITH" as a compliment to ANH and a harbinger of darker times ala a title like "PHANTOM MENACE".

ANCIENT FEAR or OLD FEARS seems too "on the nose" opposite of "A NEW HOPE" not taking into account what the title "A NEW HOPE" really COMMUNICATES in regard to the mindset of the film's heroes.

Basically: "A NEW HOPE" communicates "hope" in the title. it shows a returning confidence for the Old Republic/Jedi. In my opinion the title "ANCIENT FEAR" doesn't communicate that "shift" in the heroes' confidence level as well as "LOSS OF FAITH" does.

I always hated the "New Hope" subtitle.
The words Star Wars make me go "Wow!". The words New Hope make me go "yawn". It just doesn't pack enough punch for me.

To be honest, I still have to convince myself it's actually happening.
But that huge "VII" sign sure helps!!!!

We should all wear "Blue Harvest II, the next crop" T-shirts!

All that matters to me is the meaning of the title---so, "yawn" or not I want it to be on point.... UNLESS a "yawn" title will turn away viewers.... which in the "Star Wars" context, it WON'T.

They could name it "Yawn" and it'd make a billion dollars.

In that case, "Return of the Yawn" it is!!!

              Remember Quantum of Solace?
Every Bond fan hated the title, because it was "yawn". And the film never became a fan favorite.

But I agree, everybody will go see SW, no matter what title...

An awkward/"yawn" movie title outside of Star Wars (ironically SW is, like, the one franchise presently immune) can certainly cause great box office losses.

One of those scenarios that I feel worst about is SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION... a movie that I thought was great, but might have benefitted more from a title like "MURDERING HUSBAND" or something that'd give more of an idea what the film was like to those potential viewers on the fence

I'll miss the classic 20th Century Fox fanfare.

Star Wars was the first movie I saw with the Fox fanfare as an opener, and every time I saw and heard the Fox intro after that, the only thing in my mind was "Star Wars!!!!"...

I also associate the Fox fanfare with Star Wars every time I hear it.

Same with the RKO Radio Pictures radio tower intro... No matter what movie it is, it always makes me think of the original King Kong every time.

My wife says that the Star Wars title theme and the theme from Dallas sound the same.
