It'll be interesting to see what kind of character Andy Serkis plays.

        Abrams? NO WAY.
Grandpa will at least have less screen time OR grandpa be the one that is blowing up a new Death Star HIMSELF--- but whether grandpa SHOULD be doing that is another can of worms point.

With the rumors flying that Ford's role will be enormous, there have been comments that his seating proximity next to JJ suggest he will have a sizable role. Perhaps they're overanalyzing the seating arrangement, but I do hope Mark Hamill isn't squandered for this film. He is an underrated talent, and, well, he's like the HERO of the Original Trilogy.

I personally don't think any will. A sure fire way to tick off fans of the classic trilogy would to be kill a beloved character in the first film of the new trilogy. I don't think Disney would allow it.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Since the last adventure, did Leia become a Jedi?

Did the rebels succeed or Did the Empire stamp them out?

Did or will Luke succumb to the Darkside?

                Are there more Jedi now?

Did Han and Leia marry and if so did they stay together?

                  Interesting cast.
Particularly excited about Max Von Sydow. He's great in whatever he's in, be it The Seventh Seal, Flash Gordon, Dune, Conan the Barbarian, Judge Dredd, Solomon Kane, etc, etc.
                  PUNY HUMANS!

I know that is a popular theory, but man... it seems like that would totally negate the entire point of the Star Wars-Empire-Jedi trilogy.

Lucas is probably there, standing outside the photo. However, I think there's deliberate reason why they didn't have Lucas somewhere in the photo. I think they think the presence of Lucas would be viewed as a bad omen by some people and they want to distance themselves from whatever previous "fiascoes" and 'move forward'. I'm sure he'll be lurking in the wings during production. Probably closer to the film's release, he'll make more public appearances.

I believe your hypothesis is 100% accurate. I'd even not be surprised if the reason that photo is black and white is because they photoshopped something here or there and it may've been easier to hide that the photo had been altered.

I have to admit that as much as I'd like to say that I think that Disney wouldn't limit themselves like that... it actually IS a pretty convincing theory in the context of the very first film released.

I'm kinda split about killing any major player in ANY of the films though.

I'd like to think that 2 or 3 of them would die by the time the trilogy was over... it'd have huge dramatic impact, AND it would neatly mirror Ben's death, Yoda's death, and Vader's death (not to mention others that didn't really play as big a part in the saga story as those 6 mentioned).
