Why was the town of Christmas actually under attack?
Because it was special, or because the Doctor chose to stay there and the villians wanted to kill him?
In the latter case, he would be the reason for the attacks, and not the "savior" of the town.
It also bothered me that the Doctor promised never to leave Clara again...and does so two minutes later. Again. Friends don't do that.
Question: what happened to the Great Intelligence undoing all the Doctor's victories? And Clara trying to reverse all that.
To be honest, I thought that was a fantastic idea, and had hoped that this would be the big finale of this year. It would have been much more dramatic as a send-off for Smith.
