      I must admit when they panned over to him, I thought "really?" and then he went into the routine and I understood.

      It was subtle but they touched on Hartnell's alleged racism too, that was well done.

        Yep, but I remember reading years ago Carol Ann Ford (who's Jewish) said he never showed ANY racism around her - which I think helped make his character not too too awful.

        The thing that surprised me was I never knew he smoked ---- but I guess EVERYBODY smoked back then

              I think that was Mark Gatiss as Pertwee, no? It makes sense to include a clip of Hartnell re-appearing for the 3 Doctor's.
