    OMG!
That was fantastic! Just shows what could have been, how we missed out on a really great version of the Doctor... After rewatching the 8th movie again, I've been inspired to seek out some of the novels etc. and find they are very good.
So pumped for the special now!

That was awesome, but still wish he could have made a proper appearance in Day Of The Doctor or maybe he will.

You beat me to it Brian! This is what they've needed for some time. It's a good set-up and answers one nagging question.

Neat. I've always liked the 96 movie and McGann's Doctor.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

                Very interesting.

From what Smith's Doctor said when the Hurt Doctor was introduces I figured that Hurt was the Doctor that ended the time war and doing that would go against everything the Doctor had stood for but I thought that the Hurt Doctor was just an older version of the McGann Doctor not a new Doctor.

That make the Hurt Doctor #9, Eccleston is now #10, Tennant now #11 and Smith #12 - making Peter Capaldi the 13th and last Doctor since Time Lords only regenerate 12 times.

Fianally Paul gets some respect, but it also proves out what I've been saying all along there is no reason other than they choose not to that they can't make a series with Paul as the Doctor for tv

Big Finish has put many of the 8th doctor audios on sale in respnse to this.
If you want to listen to them in chronological order :
                  Monthy relases 16-19 28-33 50 All 2.99 each all the time, http://www.bigfinish.com/ranges/rele...-series/page:7
                  51-55 61-62 http://www.bigfinish.com/ranges/rele...-series/page:6
                  63-64 72 75 77 80 83 http://www.bigfinish.com/ranges/rele...-series/page:5
                  88 101 103 http://www.bigfinish.com/ranges/rele...-series/page:4

Award-winning, full-cast original audio dramas from the worlds of Doctor Who, Torchwood, Blake's 7, Class, Dark Shadows, The Avengers, Survivors, The Omega Factor, Star Cops, Sherlock Holmes, Dorian Gray, Pathfinder Legends, The Prisoner, Adam Adamant Lives, Space 1999, Timeslip, Terrahawks, Space Precinct, Thunderbirds, Stingray, Robin Hood, Dark Season, UFO, Stargate, V UK, Time Tunnel, Sky

8th Doctor Adventures Series 1-4 - in the sale
Dark Eyes box set 1 in the sale

But any of these can be listened to without the other series as back story

These releases from the monthy series seem to be chronologically before the earlier releases but before the 8th Doctor Adventures series (only becuase they don't mention Charley or Lucy Miller)

With the Master's abilty to regenerate from Derek Jacoby to John Simm (after he stole the bodies of both Tremas and Eric Roberts) I think we can throw 12 regenrations out the window

                      Hmmmm....

Yeah; I think they changed it so Time Lords have an unspecified number now. It's not indefinite, 'cos it takes a lot of effort, but there's no set number. Which is probably good, since the 13th Doctor is supposed to be evil. (Unless he IS; and that's what #12 was so worried about.)

But the Master used some very evil ways to stay alive - taking over other peoples bodies isn't really the Doctor's style.

I don't remember anything about the 12 regenerations being thrown out but then I don't know everything about Who as I've never followed the audios or books.
As for the 13th being evil, the Valeyard is described by the Master as an amalgamation of the Doctor's darker sides from between his twelfth and final incarnations -not the true 13th Doctor.

Is there a back story to that planet, the sisterhood and the elixir from the original series that new who fans can check out?

I kind of wish they stretched out McGann's return as the Doctor to some more minisodes.

It looks like Christopher Eccleston really could of have some meaty material to play with rather than John Hurt if he hadn't of burned his bridge. Although being the main antagonist in Thor means he's not hurting either. (pun intended)

At the recent Who-con, I found it fascinating that folks were referring to Hurt as 8.5 in order to try and retain their original numbering system. 8)

So that's why the regenerations look so different now.
