8 year old me would have traded Channel 57/City for Channel 29 in a heartbeat, just for the after school awesomeness of Filmation superheroes and Batman '66, without going over to a friend's house that had those cable boxes with the dozens of buttons on it (attached to a wire of course).
You would not have been able to tear late-night City TV programming out of my 14 year old deathgrip on the other hand.Comment

Yeah, I remember watching tons of superhero cartoons and '66 Batman. Plus Godzilla and kung-fu movies on the weekends. But yeah, I would have loved watching that "Baby Blue" late night programming on City when I was a teen! Thankfully my dad bought one of those huge satellite dishes when I around 16 and was introduced to the delights of the Playboy Channel and later American EXXXtasy, but I digress...
Yeah, I thought I remembered seeing it as channel 79 in the TV Guide.
Oh god, I could have done without reliving Uncle Bobby and Bimbo the Clown.

I had forgotten that the dial even went that high! It really was that Weird Al Yankovich style UHF station back in the day, eh?
Was Mighty Hercules Canadian Content as well? I'd assume that the Wizard of Oz Cartoon with "Rusty", "Socrates" et al was?Comment
