    Steven Moffat Anti-Rant

For those of you who aren't fond of Steven Moffat's reign or think he doesn't pay enough to pay heed to the original show, I give you this.

This is not Amelia Pond's cake, it's Amelia Heiler's. Doctor Who is her favourite show and the scarier it is, the better. I've tried to get my kid into a lot of stuff I like and it's all mostly fallen flat, save for this, Little Lulu comix, the odd Paul Naschy movie and some of my records.

She doesn't like the classic show, she doesn't even like David Tennent ones. Although I caught her brother watching "Day of the Daleks" by himself the other day.

She will outlive all of us and likely be a Doctor Who fan for the rest of her life. As much as we want the show to remain the same, it would die with us.

Ironically, if you venture into the comics forum you'll find many folks that comics have alienated future readers, and here we are bemoaning it with Doctor Who.

I don't like everything Moffat has done with the show but I didn't like everything Hinchecliffe, Letts, RTD or JNT did either. I can say he's doing something right because every week I'm watching it with somebody.

At cons, I'm seeing beautiful young women in Fez's and bowties, some even dressed as the 7th Doctor(!). They were likely all in diapers when Sylvester McCoy was in the tardis. I can't help but think it's all a good thing.

    Awesome cake!
I have recently found out that DW may be the top rated show in the little town I just moved to. Things change, and the DW stories are designed to work with an ever changing cast of characters. I am very happy that this new generation of DW fans exist and am excited to see the series go on. There are tremendous differences in all the dfferent incarnations of this show and its creative team. If it continues for another 10 years, that version will have evolved as well and I welcome that. 50 years is a great run for a show-heres to 50 more!

Oh - and a happy BD to your Amy!

Great cake and Happy Birthday to Amelia

I just want a nice stand-alone story where the universe is not at stake, we hear nothing about the Dr's secret background or past, and we get a story that everyone can follow and not left scratching their heads.

It doesn't seem much to ask for but with Moffat it's everythingn in his world.

      Again, Happy Birthday Miss Heiler

Hope she had a great Birthday, and here's to the next group of Who followers.

That cake looks amazing. But, it is time for Steven to move on. He can keep doing 'Sherlock' though.

That's awesome Brian. Love the cake, and it's great to share something like that with your kids. She'll carry that love forward.

My son watched a rerun of "Hide" last week and loved it. I forgot to set the DVR for new ones though!

I know i didn't think every story in classic Who was really a classic and can't expect every new episode to be one either.
But this weeks episode was the fist time since 1995 that i got to watch a new episode of Star Trek- the Next Generation with a Dr who cast.
Please stop the reset button stories that Trek is famous for put in Doctor Who.

However i did somewhat enjoy it and Most of Moffet's years, but he really needs to back off on everything being Timey-Whimey all the time.

                  >Little Lulu comix

If it's good enough for Alan Moore....

I don't care for some stuff in the new shows.... the old ones either; but I know that, like all things the bad will pass and soon I'll get a new episode, with new monsters. I just want new monsters.

....and for Strax to get his own series. Where he teams up with Abslom Daak.

                  Don C.

I agree. My kids (6 and 8) love the show. A local theater plays the new episodes and we tend to go watch them there when we have the time. I was commenting to my wife this past week that the audience was way more female than male and most of them were teens to early 20s. As a long time Dr Who fan it's wild to see fandom today compared to the 80s.
