For those of you who aren't fond of Steven Moffat's reign or think he doesn't pay enough to pay heed to the original show, I give you this.

This is not Amelia Pond's cake, it's Amelia Heiler's. Doctor Who is her favourite show and the scarier it is, the better. I've tried to get my kid into a lot of stuff I like and it's all mostly fallen flat, save for this, Little Lulu comix, the odd Paul Naschy movie and some of my records.
She doesn't like the classic show, she doesn't even like David Tennent ones. Although I caught her brother watching "Day of the Daleks" by himself the other day.
She will outlive all of us and likely be a Doctor Who fan for the rest of her life. As much as we want the show to remain the same, it would die with us.
Ironically, if you venture into the comics forum you'll find many folks that comics have alienated future readers, and here we are bemoaning it with Doctor Who.
I don't like everything Moffat has done with the show but I didn't like everything Hinchecliffe, Letts, RTD or JNT did either. I can say he's doing something right because every week I'm watching it with somebody.
At cons, I'm seeing beautiful young women in Fez's and bowties, some even dressed as the 7th Doctor(!). They were likely all in diapers when Sylvester McCoy was in the tardis. I can't help but think it's all a good thing.
