A real great actor,loved him in Flash Gordon,Dune,Judge Dredd and Soloman Kane.Also thought he was good in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood.

I heard they'd finally made a deal for it to get US distribution... not sure if it was true or not.
It's a decent movie... certainly one of the better REH adaptations. Purefoy is excellent in the role.

I think Max Von Sydow brings such class to the films he is in. His performance saved Flash Gordon. He gave a very human face to the Germans in Victory against Stallone (He would team up with Sly again in Judge Dread). He made you believe in the physicality of the devil in the Exorcist. And he even played a convincing King in Conan opposite Arnold. He's one of the best.

I'll watch anything this guy does. Two movies I really enjoyed his preformance in that haven't been mentioed are Dreamscape and What Dreams May Come. He was also the voice of Vigo in Ghostbusters 2.
