Bryan Singer talks about Battlestar coming to the big screen

So... I really am the only person who liked that movie?

Yes. I didn't like it at all. Only watched parts of re-hack at regular speed. Most of it on FF. I thought Routh did a good job though, it was not his fault except that he took the job and really, that may be unforgiveable.

It think it's too little, too late. With the revamped Star Trek, and the new Star Wars movies coming out, Battlestar Galactica would just be one more space opera. If these new Star Wars movies turn out to be everything the fans have been waiting for, Battlestar Galactica would be nothing more than a fart in the wind- one space opera too many. Bryan Singer is going to have to fight like hell to distinguish it from Star Wars.

^^^Actually I think the opposite. If both films are break out hits, it's going to make studios look for similar properties. But it's like anything you do in films these days. It's how well the story is crafted and what kind of actors you get to play the lead roles that make or break it. If they can do that well, and pack in a meaningful budget, this could be a great film. In many ways, Star Wars and Star Trek are nostalgia brands just like Galactica.
