Highlander gets the reboot treatment possibly with Ryan Reynolds

Uh... No. For whatever props I want to give him on GL, I can never see him in the role of Connor Macleod. Hopefully he'll pass and move on to a different project. Actually I don't want any reboot. I really see Highlander as a period piece that isn't open to a new interpretation. It's style is unique because of the video age of it's day. The director was more noted for music videos than he was for movies. And Highlander was his extension of that idea with lots of story sequences with Queen music played over top and sweeping camera shots to accentuate both the music and the moment. I love the movie. But I know you can't make it like that again. There can be only ONE.

I can't see Reynolds as McCleod either, but if a French guy with a thick accent can play a Scotsman...

That was just about the only role that Chris was good in; everything else pretty much tanked.

Including the debacle that was Highlander 2.

I am of two minds when it comes to this.

While I adored the original movie and the TV series, I'd like to see them left alone as part of the era that made them.

However, that doesn't mean that a GOOD reboot can't be made.

As long as the script, actors, ACTING, and producers don't suck.

If even ONE part of the reboot is terrible, whether it be the script, actors, sets, costuming, etc.; then the whole thing will have been a waste of time, money and effort.

How about we re-cast the role with an actor that can speak english lines even less effectively than the previous 2 actors who played McCloud. Then cast Van Damme in the old Sean Connery role and the actor who played Sinestro as the adversary.
