I took the "from the company that brought you Transformers" as warning. Personally I don't see how Liam Neeson is allowed to make movies anymore. I honestly can't stand any movie he's in. They always look good in the trailers but then I see them and it's a total let down. Too much action, no story.

if they play it at the drive in i will likely go. it got pretty good reviews, one even going so far as to say Battleship is the movie Pearl Harbor wanted to be.....and i will go on the record as saying I really liked Pearl HarborComment

It actually doesn't look bad, despite the flimsy premise and horrible corporate tagline, but it's not anything I'd pay big bucks to drag myself and any of the family to. When it comes to DVD and Cindy can pick it up at the library for free, I'll gladly watch.
I'm betting the guy who played John Carter is hoping for a hit hard here. Poor guy deserves a break.

To be honest that fact drives me away more than anything
It don't look fun, it just looks like another kids CGI movie

Looks like it will still be a hit based on the worldwide box-office thus far. A bigger win for Hasbro than GI Joe was. Big loud action movies with little plot to get in the way of the CG appears to play well overseas. Look for Monopoly, Cranium, Risk, Pictionary, Candy Land, Snakes and Ladders, and Twister at your local multiplex inside of the next few years. Go Bots? M.A.S.K.? My Little Ponies? Cabbage Patch Kids? Beyblades? Lincoln Logs? Zoids? Magic the Gathering? Hasbro Studios will make it into a movie eventually.
