I just cannot seem to enjoy Collin Baker as the Doctor

With my wife's Kindle I've been watching a lot of Who and jumping between series, but I can't seem to last that long with him in the role. Does anyone have a favorite ep during that era that would make me feel mistaken?
    It's all good!

I also had a hard time enjoying Colin as the Doctor, unfortunately. I wanted to like him, but I just found him far too abrasive, irritating and unlikeable. Peri saved the show for me, since she was a fairly likeable character...Because I nearly gave up during his run.

I would love to recommend an episode or two that I was okay with, but it's been many years since I saw any of Colin's episodes.

He really was, but I kinda liked that. It was different. I found the biggest problem with the Collin Baker episodes was that they never quite jelled. I guess that was 'cos the folks behind the scenes were in conflict over wether they wanted a lighthearted kid show or a more serious show for older folks. You could REALLY see it with "Trial of a Time Lord," with the last minute tacked on ending.

I think they would have done better if they'd settled on one or the other. Still, I kinda liked the idea of a completely insane Doctor.

      >Peri saved the show for me

I agree, but I think puberty had something to do with it.

Puberty must have had a LOT to do with it. I can't take Peri for very long without hitting the mute button. She certainly did know how to scream.

Colin's Doctor was designed to be more acerbic and like the first Doctor a little less easy going. as the years passed he was going to mellow some, however after that one year Micheal Grade decided the show needed a break ( he actually wanted it gone, but the outcry was too stong) so they put in on a hiatus from 18 months. when it came back they made him abit softer as he now only had the 14 episode season and the Trail theme to boot. If the show was left alone i think Colin 's Doctor would have developed differenty and been fun to watch. He's great to listen to in the Big Finish Doctor Who Audio dramas!

As for Peri, i adore her and all her assets!

            I still don't.

I'd like to erase all the DW episodes with Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor. All of them.

For me Doctor Who finished the moment someone decided celery was fashion.

I've been loving the new Who, but the first sign of vegetation on a lapel and I'm outta there.

Baker's reign is what ended my Who fandom for a few years, although it had been softly bludgeoned by Davison's era.

I used to blame him but it's such a combination of factors, with better handling, he could have been a great Doctor.

McCoy got me back into Who, not right away but the "Doctor/Ace" story arc was actually pretty good and brought some mystery back to the character.

Nope, once I saw Colin, it was just a bridge too far..

I tried to love Davison, was successful most of the time, but most stories from the JNT era were just BAD.

I still love both 4th and 5th Doctors (AND Peri, of course...), but was pretty much ready to move on when Colin came.
                  Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

I don't hate Colin, but I do think he was a big reason Dr Who went down hill big-time.

Not really Colin's fault, the blame goes to JNT

If I could pick a fav story during the Colin era i'd probably pick his Cybermen story (forgot the title)

I recently started to re-watch Trial after swearing for years that I'd lived through Colin Baker once and never again. I know it goes downhill quickly, but the beginning episodes aren't bad. Making him more likeable clearly helps. I still don't think I'd ever recommend anyone watch any of his stories.

I still like the Two Doctors, but more because I really like Patrick Troughton.

I watched Trial for the first time a couple months back. I thought Flash Gordon was going to show up somewhere along the storyline.
