I think it does. Taylor and Brent were in New York. Burke and Virdon were in San Francisco. The areas are so separated because of the lack of being able to cross natural boundaries that they continued down different paths where the humans in San Francisco retained some of their intelligence and were kept as servants while the humans in New York were allowed/forced to become wild animals. Given the events of Escape/Conquest/Battle take place in California, Ceasar lives in California, that may explain why the humans in Calfironia are not allowed to become savages. Additionally, the series takes place around 3085 whereas the first two movies take place about 100 years later in 3978.

I had forgotten about the dates. That would make me put the TV series before POTA/Beneath. I still would not put it at the end. I still say that the ending of Battle wants us to believe that things were changed for the better with apes and humans being equal. I'd buy the different scenarios for different parts of the country argument. However, since Ceasar was in Cali, I am inclined to believe we would find the apes and humans living more as equals than what the TV series portrayed, based on the ending of Battle. Just my opinion.Comment

That makes sense. The TV series should probably be put between Rise and and Taylor's POTA. I agree as long as Burke and Virdon travelled before the events of Escape.
Revised:
-Taylor is launched on his mission
-Brandt is launched on his mission
-the events of Rise of POTA
-TV series
-events of POTA/Beneath POTA
-Escape from POTA - chimps going back in time CREATE NEW TIME LINE
-Conquest of POTA/Battle for POTAComment

Here's another little tidbit to throw out, and it might not even count as it was filmed and thrown in for fun in the 80's. Galen tells us (in those little clips filmed for the "movies" made out of the TV series) that Burke and Virdon found their computer and disappeared. Which we are to assume meant they made it back to their time on Earth. So that would have happened before Taylor makes it to POTA and they would end up back in their time after Brent had departed, as they wouldn't have been around to warn either Taylor or Brent what they were getting into.Comment

They are on the web somewhere. I had found them a few years ago and we talked about them here last year sometime. Let me do some digging and see what I can find. I know I downloaded them too. Not sure where I have them at the moment.Comment

I guess once you factor in time travel as a plot device. It's anything goes!!! One thing that kinda underlies the whole franchise, is that regardless of the chain of events. The conclusion is always the same. MOdern Man buys the farm and the monkeys inherit the Earth.
Oh yeah, Sorry bout the title mix up. Dont know where I got "Conquest" from (Senior Moment.) As to the original novel. I have never been able to find a copy (English translation) I would love to read it. If only I could find a downloadable copy like on the Guttenburg Project. That and "Logan's Run" the original novel.Comment

Monkey Planet (The Planet of the Apes novel in French) is pretty common, as is it's English translation. I see them on eBay every so often. Newer printings are pretty cheap. Got a first printing during burton's ape fiasco when eBay sellers went ape crazy.
As an aside I remember there being a pretty cool site that had a great timeline that included all the movies (even Burton's), the TV show, the comics, the cartoon and other forms of media. It actually worked out with creating an alternative timeline.
It takes into account that Corny and Zira were MEANT to escape the bomb, and that in fact kicked off the events that led to the rise of apekind.Last edited by LadyZod; Jan 17, '12, 3:30 AM.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
