Have to agree. It could be reworded to say that he makes five good movies for every masterpiece he creates. That I MIGHT be persuaded to agree to, maybe. But 5 unwatchable to every one good one. No way.

Why does every movie "have" to have a sequel? Leave the movie alone. If there was ever to be a sequel, it should've been years ago. I was perfectly fine with there being only one Tron movie, too.
I'm so glad there hasn't been a sequel to E.T.I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.Comment

The trend I don't like with bringing back these old movies is feeling like your obligated to bring back the star from the original. Whether its a stupid cameo apperance of the main role these new movies shouldn't be pigeon holed into casting someone just because they appeared in the first some years ago. The Alien series is one of the best example of this... Alien 3 and up would have been way better WITHOUT Ripley (focus on the Marines!) Forcing Arnold in Terminator movies is silly now...move on. I loved the new Tron for the visuals but Jeff Bridges didn't need to be there and the movie suffered from him being there. So if Blade Runner gets remade it's like a prerequisite that Harrison Ford or Rutger Hauer or whoever show up in some diminished role to remind us of the original. Just tell the stories from a different perspective without recycling cast."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

60% of the films he makes are better than good films they border genius but 40% of his films are crap.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Ok its more like a three to one ratio for Scott but many of his good films are more past than present. Gladiator & Black Hawk Down came out over a decade ago and the films he's made since then have either been mediocre, forgettable, or down right terrible. Also read number two on this list and see if you still have the same opinion of him.

All I'm saying is he's a really overrated director that has made some amazing movies but turned out a lot of crap along the way.Last edited by spacecaps; Jan 2, '12, 8:40 PM."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I dig Ridley Scott...he directed ALIEN and Blade Runner...one of the two greatest sci-fi movies ever...and that's good enough for me.
I also like Legend better than ALL the Lord of the Rings movies combined...so sue me...lol.sigpicComment

I blame the failure of "Legend" on Tom Crooze. Really! I'm not joking!!! I think they should have gone the Lucas route and hired an Unknown to play Jack. Instead I spent the movie going, "Look there's Ton Crooze trying to act in a fantasy film!!!"Comment

Exactly.
...and I still get a chuckle at all this Tom Cruise hate...the dude is a solid action star...I have nothing against him...it's probably his Scientologist thing that gets people going...also remember...Tom Cruise was not the superstar he was in Legend...as he is today...people seem to forget that nowadays.sigpicComment

Tangerine Dream or Jerry Goldsmith?
I prefer Tangerine Dream...it gives Legend this fresh New Age feel to it that adds to the overall fantasy experience.
With Jerry Goldsmith, it's just seems like run of the mill typical classical movie soundtrack...

Soundtrack
Due to the changes in the film from its European and American releases, Legend has two different soundtracks. The first, produced and composed by Jerry Goldsmith, was used for its initial European release and restored in the director's cut edition of the Region 1 DVD release. The second soundtrack features music by German electronic artists Tangerine Dream and was used for the initial theatrical and home video releases in the United States. This soundtrack also includes songs by Jon Anderson of Yes and Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music. Both soundtracks are available on CD, though the Tangerine Dream soundtrack has become harder to find.
Watch both and compare...it's like two different movies (some different scenes as well)...
