    An anthology series on Showtime or HBO would be cool, so long as they adapted stories they'd originally published.

      Totally! I remember when I first watched it, it felt like an adaptation of a French SF comic by Mobius or something. Which I guess makes sense considering the film's director was French. Anyway, that's one reason why I really like that film.

        ....and Mobius was involved in the design work....

        I'm always apprehensive about stuff like this: what made the stories in Heavy Metal so entertaining was how weird and over the top they were. Two concepts that make producers nervous. Comics can be wild 'cos it's comparatively cheap to make them, cheaper than tv or film anyhoo. The bigger the budget, the more middle of the road they shoot for so's to maximalize the potential audience. (I wouldn't be surprised if the final show was actually PG or PG-13 for that reason.)

        ....but if someone wanted to make a tv show with the POst Bros, I would SOOOO be there!

          Sorry,

          But unless they're the original comics, directed by the artists that created them; Enki Bilal, Richard Corben, Mobius, Phillipe Druillet, Caza, etc-- I'll pass. Looks kinda dumb... I own and have read every issue up to the early 90's cover to cover, many times and don't remember anything like what I just watched. Like someone else said, what made those comics so incredibly cool and unique, was how avant-garde and over the top they were. No one would ever produce them as is-- Not here in the states anyway...

          Here's what I had to say about Heavy Metal, regarding it's influence on my work;

          Sandy Collora (Sandy_Collora): his videos on Dailymotion

          Listen to the first question in the interview-- You don't need to speak French to understand what I'm saying.

            You really wish so much more of Moebius' design work would make it to the big screen. Looking at his stuff for Tron, Alien and Blade Runner, they are incredibly innovative, but you just look at all the mind blowing stuff that they didn't end up using.

            how do folks feel about the Heavy Metal animated film, which did involve some of the original artists to a certain degree?

              Mobius is God. Plain and simple-- Pure genius. I love the Heavy Metal animated film. I watch it often. Great soundtrack by Elmer Bernstein and the John Candy VO for Den is so perfect, I can't even contain myself.

                The first one was great; although I kinda waffle back and forth over wether or not I'd prefer they picked one story and did the whole fim or the anthology format they used. The second one made me ashamed to be part of the human race, and pray for the apocalypse to wipe us all out so maybe the cockroaches wouldn't make the same mistake.

                  The Heavy Metal movie is an inseperable part of my teenage hood. Saw it 2 times at the theater (with an older buddy that helped my squeak by into an R rated movie).

                      100% agree..............W T F did i just see?...whatever that was, it was NOT Heavy Metal not even close......

                      Just like you Sandy I have every single issue. My sisters boyfriend at the time knew i loved comics and one day he said you ever read this?.....I was blown away.....I always thought comics were about superheroes boy was i wrong. I quickly went and bought all the issues that I was missing and never ever missed an issue after that.

                      The artist and stories had a profound influence on me......

                      I remember I was so excited when i went to see the movie it blew me away....one of my all time favs.....
