      HAW! Stamp out the metric system! We don't want any foreign rulers!!!!

      I think most scientific work is done in metric these days; it's a LOT easier to work with. (Hence why it shows up so much in sci-fi.) Funny thing; a friend tells me a lot of engineering is still Imperial. Weird.

        Interestingly, Lucas chose the metric system for the Star Wars movies, too.

        (The exhaust port being two meters wide, Womp Rats being not much bigger than two meters, etc.)

        You'd think the Imperial system would have been a better choice!
