I'm sitting at a campsite, by a fire.
I just watched ESB on my iPad.

    Good heavens.
I know it sounds corny, but I could have cried seeing this remastered original footage....soooooo clean, and in HD.

The folks who took on this task deserve a cold beer and a high five.

Watching the original footage, as clean as this, made me time travel right back to that 1980's theater.

Profoundly renewed my interest in star wars.

Folks - don't get the misunderstanding that "I" will be distrubuting these massive files.

You can however, go to this site, create and account, and participate:

          http://tehparadox.com/forum/f89/harm...ction-2737942/

You have to join in order to see the downloadable contents.
His very first post has a link to SW and ESB...the main thread is about Jedi.

The movies look great but they are not true 1080 BluRay. They were processed at 720p which is still HD. Marmy didn't put them in 1080 for various reasons. If you go to originaltrilogy.com you can read more about it.

You do however need a BR player to view these discs as most DVD players wont play 720p ISO files.

            Here are the specs
            HIGH DEFINITION RELEASE

            FORMAT: AVCHD DVD9

            VIDEO: 1280x720p H264 23.976 fps

            AUDIO:

            TRACK 1) hairy_hen's 5.1 70mm mix @ 448Kbps AC3

            TRACK 2) 1993 2.0 mix @ 320Kbps AC3

            TRACK 3) 1977 1.0 mix @ 96Kbps

            TRACK 4) 1977 2.0 mix @ 256Kbps

            TRACK 5) 1992 2.0 CZ dub @ 256Kbps

TRACK 6) Commentary for visually impaired @ 192Kbps

My TV is 37 inches so I notice only a little difference between 720 and 1080.

It's great that they put in the soundtrack variations as well (the 77 mono and stereo mix, for instance)

I want to see these badly! I'm almost surprised it took this long for someone to do though. With today's technology it was only matter of time before someone with know-how and desire would pull this off.
