come on guys, we must remember that other than grips about "improvements" to one of the most popular series in movie history Lucas REALLY IS important in movie history. before he (and a handful of others) the sci fi and fantasy genres were starting to become stagnant. Sure Harryhausen was (and always will be) great but other than him no one was really even trying to raise the bar by the 70's. I think Lucas deserves full credit for his part in making movies like Superman, Star Trek, and Close Encounters of the third kind for even seeing the light of day. Film is really better for having him around because not many executives would have been willing to try to make something hard like the first star wars movie was. Other than that though i cant stand all these "improvements"

This is cool from the Blu Ray... the coridoor scene from Empire with extended, more passionate dialogue between Han and Leia:

I am grateful to George for making several great movies.
I thank him for releasing the original versions on DVD, just like we asked.
I don't need to buy or watch the newer versions, so I'll leave the man alone to keep on tinkering with his movies.

Now everybody relax and enjoy the wonderful world of Star Wars, in the format that we each prefer...
