It was a really good movie. I could care less about the reviews or what they say.

I want to see it. I have reservations about someone other than Arnold playing the role but I am game to see how they do.....and I am all about seeing boobies and graffic violence

          >Did these so-call reviewers even see the original?

I think that might be the problem: that a lot of folks use the Arnie version as their master template. Bad idea, since the Arnie Conan wasn't really Conan.... maybe closer to the DeCamp version but definitely not Howard's. The current one seems more like Howard's Conan; a savage, vicious uncouth barbarian.

I have to admit, I wasn't looking forward to seeing this. I am just not a fan of most of the remakes out there (Clash of the Titans was horrid). Now after hearing the reviews, I want to see this. Blood, Violence, Nudity, selfish character out for his own good, sounds like someone did Conan the way its supposed to be done. I now look forward to it.

Saw it last night, and I agree. Visually the movie is stunning. The story is simple enough and follows the basic revenge/avenging someone's death theme. And Conan is SPOT ON PERFECT.

I never liked the Arnie movie. It did not match up in my mind with what/who Conan the Barbarian was.

Will it win any Academy awards? No. Is it faithful to the character and basic ideas? Yes.

If you like the Conan persona, if you read the Conan comics (more so "Savage Tales" from the 70's), if you understand that this is a fantasy film filled with relentless violence and gore, as well as brutish barbarianism and culture....then go see it. You will love it.

And THIS is Conan the Barbarian. Jason Momoa IS Conan the Barbarian. They could not have found a better actor. I cannot wait to see him in another movie. Conan purists will rejoice when they see this guy play the part.

I also thought the dialogue was perfect. There are places in the movie where you will crack up as a Conan fan because he is SO direct and to the point, never holding back what he thinks. Most people will not get it, and therefore the bad reviews. But I thought it was true to the character.

One interesting criticism I've read is that the story follows a video game format of moving through level bosses in order to beat the game, in that Conan kills the main bad guy's lieutenants one by one even though in some cases it might be more work than it's worth and/or unnecessary. They actually compared the story format to Scott Pilgrim.

I haven't seen it yet (it's not playing at my favorite theater, oddly), but I believe in Mamoa. He does have the look (although blue eyes would have been a welcome addition).

It's a 3D only movie? I was going to go see it but I scoffed at the extra ticket price.

No...you can skip it and watch it on non-3D...all theaters have options.

When a movie is released in 3D...only 40% of that particular movie is shown in actual 3D...the rest of the 60% is on regular screen...
