This was optioned for a movie a few years back, but nothing ever came of it.

Not so much a Book but a short story.....Harlan Ellison's I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream......is my all time fave. It blows my mind how good this is.

It was a toss up between the time machine and I am legend and then I remembered when I was a kid legend scared the crap out of me.I would have nightmares about being all alone on the planet with crazies chasing me.
