I think RTD did a great job re-designing the Daleks. They looked lean and mean. I think Moffat went the wrong way in his re-design. Just make the fat Daleks the leaders and keep the RTD Daleks as the soldiers. Keep the military green color scheme for a while too. There should be some variation and specialization in the Daleks. He kind'a blew that last season when he had the new ones start exterminating the old ones. They should not all be exactly the same. The rainbow colors don't help either.

        I totally agree.

The RTD Daleks were the first Daleks since the Cushing movies that didn't look fragile.

RTD Daleks were meatie and had a steampunk look.

Plus they were pretty good at kicking the Cybermen's butt.

My favorite moment in the new series was when the Daleks and Cybermen faced off, and both refused to identify themselves to the other.
In the end, the Cybermen boasted, using the name "Cybermen", and the Dalek said triumphantly "you identified first", as in a game of chicken...

I did like the gold/brass style Daleks, but didn't like the humpback Morris Mini style new ones. They looked like cars for midget secretaries.
(No offense intended to little people, or secretaries....)

Just watched the Dr Who Confidential, behind the scenes of this episode and they are all working with the stunt people for the big fight, vash is doing great moves with both swords. Where was all this in the actual episode.??

The "making of" was better than the episode!
They kind of cut out the most of the battle, watching the making of.
It's like Star Wars, but without the wars.
"Let's go blow up the Death Star!!!"
Next scene: "OK, we blew that up real good!!!..The End.....

                    Hmmmm....

It was alright; but kinda lacking in the emotion department. So.... the Doc is gearing up for a fight with these dudes we've never heard of, and he scours the galaxy for a team of heroes we've never heard of, and they sort of do some stuff.... I would have MUCH rather found out what that Sontaran did to get demoted. And yeah; what happened to the cybermen?

Like I said before, I miss the days of nice self contained stories not being bogged down with never ending story arcs --- which many times invade on the episode at hand.

Was just watching Pyramids of Mars last night and it hit me how refreshing it is to see a story from start to finish --- and when it's done I felt like I ate a good meal and felt satisfied

These new stories never do that for me.

They make me feel like I ate a half a burger and somebody grabbed it and ran away with the rest.

The big reveal about River was okay, I mean, it makes sense. Other than making the Doctor kind of like an intergalatic pedophile, but whatever. I'm still missing RTD, lol.

I liked last night's show very much. I'm glad to see ole Ror back in his centurion digs. I still don't like Amy though or the way she treats him.

I was thinking the opposite, considering Kingston is easily old enough to be Matt Smith's mother

In real life she's older than Christopher Eccleston

Let the speculation begin! There's a clip on BBC America called "Time Runs Out." It shows a hand holding the Sonic Screwdriver and the light on it going out.
