The action figures for this series are going to be AWESOME. And wrapped in little brown paper bags, it seems. Still, it'll be fun watching parents' heads explode in the action figure isle as lil' Jimmy wants a Darth Syphillis figure.

"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Looks likely that one of the new Doctor Who writers has produced a script for the SW TV series, according to TF.N:

"A source has revealed to us that British writer, Matthew Graham, is one of the team that Lucas recruited to the project.

Graham is best known for co-creating and co-writing Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes, and we recently saw his work in Doctor Who, too, where he penned the two-parter, The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People.

We got in touch with Matthew Graham and asked him whether the news was true. All he would say to us was that he had done some work out at LucasFilm during 2008 and 2009 "on something unbelievably cool", and that his contract "had come to an end". "I hope one day I'll be able to talk about it," he told us."

But with the show on hold, I guess it'll be a while before we know anything for sure.
        PUNY HUMANS!

Lay off Georgey will you guys?! I mean, I am totally picking up what he is throwing down...

As a matter of fact, I wasn't going to announce this, but I have over 5000 action figures designed and ready to go. These amazing figures are both modern and retro, articulated and simple, charming and realistic. They will be loved by everyone, young and old! While I can't share details, just trust me thery are AWESOME! Unfortunately, the technological advances needed for me to pull them directly from my butt aren't available yet... but I am working on it, yup believe me fellas it's a game changer and I am in it to win it! Stay Tuned!

          -Dave

I think this is Lucas speak (similar to NEWSPEAK) for the realization he has shot 80 hours of unwatchable garbage.

Futher realising he has relesased 3 edited hours in movies already will limit his ability to repackage and resell the original 3movies in several new techno formats each year..

In old speak lucas took his 2 hours of footage and recut it into a masterpiece (star wars in 1977) and has continued to water it down since. he then went further with empire making a film for all time, then downslides begin.

Ok this is how i see it. Ole George has always been given the "well it is coming from GL" so he gets a pass. What other one man is responsible for so many childhood memories? Heck for many years, he could have gotten away with anything with the fans. But over the past decade now he keeps doing or saying stuff that makes it harder to give him the "GL" pass. Maybe it is time to just kick back in your custom darth vader rocking chair with a glass of jawa juice. You will still always be larger than life for me.

                      Wait!
Chewbacca bends over and changes a light bulb? Then where exactly is that light bulb?

I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy. As I kid I use to love playing with the toys and dreaming up scenes that didn't exist in the movies from within the Star Wars universe.

Where I, Lucas and some of the fans veer off is that I have never been interested in seeing every detail of the Star Wars universe. The minutia - the political, legal, monetary and taxation systems of Star Wars. I could care less.

I want crazy looking aliens, but I don't care about their cultural backgrounds - or their heritage, customs and religion. I just want them to look crazy and make weird noises.

I have no interest in seeing all the events leading up to the big exciting events of the first 3 movies - I just want to see the big and exciting events.

Brazzo has it right. I don’t know about anyone else, but my extremely fond memories of “Star Wars” is connected to how out of left field and “huge” yet awkwardly marketed the first film was. It was genuinely hard to find the first 12 figures when they were finally released. Nowadays it’s over-produced and over-maketed and clearly a machine created to appeal to a market I have no relation to.

“Star Trek” always had an elaborate backstory, but you really didn’t need to know it all to enjoy the show. But in the case of “Star Wars” go watch any of the prequels and most average fans have 100% no clue what any of that political B.S. means. Not to mention the bizarre “Jedi cult” that seems to have taken over the franchise and made it more like some sword and sorcery nonsense than the universe I loved as a kid.

                            Hmmmm....

I'd love to see something that had nothing to do with anyone important from any of the movies, books, tv shows, games.... It's a big galaxy; all sorts of stuff they could do. Although:

-I'd love it if they broght back Jaxxon.... mostly just to hear the wailing and gnashing of a million nerds.
-Gary the Stormtrooper NEEDS a series.

I think it should be about a teenage Luke growing up on the farm of Small...er Tatooine and slowly learning about his powers as a Jedi. The tag line could be "no ships no sabers".
