I loved Star Wars (the first movie which i'll always think of as "Star Wars")

I thought Empire was kind of boring ... It might have had a decent story, but it just moved too slowly ... It seemed like that Hoth battle lasted for hours.
Also, Empire didn't feel like a true movie --- it felt more like a TV episode in a story arc that can't stand on it's own.
In that fashion it reminds me of Search For Spock.

I'm NOT buying another version of these films, until they include an official release of the Holiday Special.

Maybe we can start a petition or something.

I agree with Bruce. I'll always enjoy the original three over anything else. Better cast, better stories, and far more compelling than the prequels. Jedi was my least favorite of those three, but it still buries the prequels. I think that film started the trend we saw in the prequels. Lucas gets so close to his creatures, he starts showcasing them instead of giving them story responsibilities. Example, the singing/dance sequence at Jabba's compound. Aimless, pointless, and diminishes the feeling of any real danger in Jabba's layer. And as much as Solo feared Jabba, he was easily disposed off when push came to shove. My biggest angst with Jedi though is the completely uneventful demise of Boba Fett. I couldn't believe such a great villain was disposed of with comical undertones. It stings to this day.

I totally agree about the re-release of Jedi in 1997 that new song and dance number made Jabba's lair feel more like a circus and it did diminish the danger of the whole thing
