This is just so shocking and soooo sad. A delightful lady gone! Now we lose another great show as well.

I'm guessing the New Series will tack on a dedication screen before Saturday's premier episode.

This news makes me even more wish they would let the surviving Doctors do some cameos in the New Series before it's too late.

Tom has stated he would do it if they asked him --- problem is nobody is asking.

It is really sad I was jsut commenting how great she looked and I really enjoyed the recent Corssover story with matt Smith and Katy Manning

I met her many years ago at a convention such a genuinely nice person

godspeed and the universe is a little darker for her passing

Loved seeing her in the more recent Who episodes. Glad she had the chance to bring the role back and get some deserved attention. Hopefully she enjoyed her role and her time with us. Rest well.

I read about this last night on my Doctor Who yahoo group, and it knocked me on my butt.

She looked so healthy and vibrant! How in the heck did she hide the cancer so well?

She also didn't look anywhere near 63. I would have figured her for mid to late fifties.

WOW.. I thought this was a joke at first...

Heavens.. She was 'heavenly'... in both wit, style and charm.

Sleep well, Ms. Sladen. And thank you..

I was depressed all last night.. Thanks to Mikey, I was able to pull out "Masque of Mandragora" and watch her parts..

She was 'the Gold Standard' of Companions, past present and future..

I'll have to download one of those youtube tributes (with Starship singing 'Sara'..) and put it on my iPod. First watching her in 'School Reunion' is what got me into watching the first DW since Davison left. She was still enormously hot and had those most wonderful eyes and plucky personality.

At least she is with Jon Pertwee and the rest, beyond the stars.
                          Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

This was absolutely heart-breaking news for me too...Like some of you, She and Tom Baker were my first Who experience when I was little (watching them on PBS).

                            RIP Elisabeth and Sarah Jane.

Was her cancer a secret ?

Seems like most people didn't know about it

She kept it very much to herself. Most people knew nothing about it.
