if you have the vhs versions it is easy to stick them in a vhs dvdr combo and press go.

not sure how much my sister paid to transfer our stuf

she had about 2.5 hours of stuff in addition to star wars. the company didn't put them in any order and threw stock audio on them. i used i movie 06 to reorder them and edit. itis 2 hours long now. i put songs i liked that were relevant to the era the video was shot the way the forrest gump soundtrack goes through time.

This was very cool! What a treat to have re-discovered this after all those years.

I loved the part where Leia says to Luke: "Stop thinking about Ben and start thinking about what you are supposed to do!" That would have been me and my brothers when we were kids. Sort of like in the Princess Bride, and how Fred Savage wanted to skip all the "mushy parts".

Lucas should have put Obi Wan in a smoking jacket, he looks cooler.

That was pretty cool, and really creative for a kid. Your mom would have been proud.

Absolutely, Brue... And that's why I loved it. Pure, untainted, innocent, 70's SW love. Doesn't really get any better than that...

yeah, because i used the words 'star wars' in the title youtube automatically blocked it in most foreign countries due to sony's ownership of the soundtrack

Wonderful! To unearth such a great childhood memory is excellent! Thanks for sharing. I can't quite smiling. Not laughing mind you... warm and fuzzy smiling.

had to watch this one again.

It is really cool to find a chunk of your childhood and use modern tech to finish it out. Whether it is cleaning up old photos, transferring reel to reel or cassettes to cds, or finishing up movie projects such as this one. It is great to be able to share with more generations.

Very much like the toy hobby we discuss here every day. Some of these things are lost to time. Either taken by the elements, lost, or tossed. It is especially warming to see someone have an actual piece of childhood preserved, be it in their own personal toy or in something like the movie you created.

I made a slapstick version of ESB for a class project in 6th grade. We used the schools 3/4" video deck and camera. There were no transfer options for me at that time. When it was done, it was shelved at the school and I am sure the tape was erased and used for another project at a later date. The only physical bit of that movie that remains is my script.

                      This was great.

Makes me wish I had kept a copy of my Star Wars The Musical me and a friend filmed when we were younger.

yes, it was film on video only 8mm. then i recorded the audio on cassette tape. the audio was never played with the video when i was a kid. it wouldn't have matched up or made any sense (if it even makes sense now editted)

A great home movie! I have been meaning to get the films I have transferred over before it is too late.
                              It's all good!
