I dunno about bipolar, definately more to do with the writing I think with catchphrases abound and the switches between excited schoolboy and i'm the last of the timelords..it just ended up making me grind my teeth. Baker was so much better at the switch in mood as in 'Pyramids of Mars' for example.
Yes Smith is more consistant but always very alien and (as pointed out) akward socially and physically and in my mind much more Doctorish.

I just watched Voyage with Kylie and it was great, a million miles better than this years christmas story.

Can't share that opinion, I will never watch that one again.

          I have to agree.

I think Voyage was the worst DW Christmas episode ever - and one of the worst DW stories ever.

I rate it around Love and Monsters and Partners in Crime

Just about unwatchable - which is weird considering I LOVE The Poseidon Adventure.

I rewatched 'voyage' on tv a couple of days ago just to see if I was being too harsh on it.....I ended up thinking I hadn't been harsh enough...it is simply awful...as Mikey01 says right up there with 'Love and Monsters' and 'Partners in Crime' , at least L & M had the excuse that the entire episode was written to showcase a compitition winners monster design.....i'd add ' Fear Her' to that list as well.

Abigail was, as all the others, stored as security against people to whom money had been lent and was never released as it wasn't until the Doctor brought the young Kazran forward in time to see what a misery guts he is so he proberly wouldn't have released Abigail as he, up till that point, hadn't been changed enough to make a differance.

Oh I forgot...I think there was a line early in the episode said by Kazran that 'On Earth they used to celebrate Christmas', this implies that he or his family either started out on Earth or they are just followers of Earth tradition.

Just watched the Christmas Special and I really liked it. Stephen Moffat has shown how skilled he is at reinventing old stories with the contemporary adaptation of A Study in Scarlet in the new Sherlock (a study in pink), not to mention Jekyll.

I can see how some folks can't get into Moffat's Doctor Who as Fairy Tale, but that's what I love about it. It's such a fun pastiche of everything from Amy as Alice in Wonderland, Rory as Pinocchio/Steadfast Tin Soldier, and the Doctor as Peter Pan.

I noticed Rory was still wearing his Roman centurian outfit... I can't remember, is he still an Auton type being, even after the reboot of the universe and marriage to Amy?

^Yeah pretty much the same as why Amy was wearing her "police uniform" too.
