1st Classic Who Companion Figure - Peri

Would never work ... It would be too hard to pick one companion for each Doctor ........

Troughton era .... Jamie or Zoe ?

Pertwee era .... Liz of Jo ?

Baker era .... Sarah, Leela or Romana 1 or 2 ?

Davison era .... Tegan or Nyssa ?

I can definitely see your point, but I think most fans think of one major companion with each Doctor. For instance, for Troughton, it's Jamie, Pertwee era, it's Jo; Baker-Sarah, Davison-Tegan, McCoy-Ace.

Of course, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe each fan has a different one.

Having one companion represent a doctors time in a set like that , wouldn't mean it was the best companion, just pick one for each, if that set sells make another ! Really you just need to make an 8 character set as Doctors 9 - 11 are covered already, except for Adam and Rory and a better Donna and River Song.

You could wind up with about 4 or 5 nice sets of companions and for some you could break off into Audio companions as well.

Set 1- Susan,Jamie,Jo,Leela,Nyssa,Peri,Ace & Grace

Set 2 - Ian,Victoria,Brig,Sarah Jane,Tegan,Evelyn,Mel & Charley

Set 3 - Barbara,Zoe,Liz,Harry,Adric,?,Benny & Crizz

Set 4 - Steven,Polly,Benton,Romana 1,Turlough,?,Hex & Lucy

Set 5 - Vicki,Ben,Mike,Romana 2,Chameleon,?,Roz,New audio girl.

See just hard for the sixth doctor. so in those spots add Katarina,Sara Kingdom,Dodo and you have 5 complete sets Just what i would buy!!!!!!!

I don't know how true this is but from what i've heard Character were not going to make classic companions.
However, they've had so many requests for them they're putting out Peri to test the water and if both sets sell well ( apparently there's going to be another Peri with a different monster ) then more companions may be produced.

I think Peri was a good choice.
She was companion to the 5th and 6th Doctors and is a very attractive figure to collect

Besides, i could never understand CO's decision to release 2 Rose's, 2 Martha's, Donna, 2 Astrid's, River, Amy, Mickey and 3 jacks then turn around and say no classic companions ( although we did get 4 SJS and K9 ).

I'm sure it's because they underestimate how many Classic fans there are.

They know how many fans there are for the New Series because they can just look at the TV viewing numbers ... But for the Classic Series they have to go by DVD sales ... And Classic overpriced DVD's keep a lot of fans from buying them.

Many of the 'exclusives' are released mainly through 'Forbidden Planet' over here and can be very difficult to get hold of anywhere else. Of course planet are being very superior about it and when I had credit card issues with them (long story that I won't bore you with), they sent out a letter to anyone affected saying basically if it wasn't for us then these 'special' figures would not be released ...unfortunately this means that the prices on these specials are sometimes too much for what they are, I'm glad they contain two or three figures but normal figures are still cheaper. The only real value for money set so far has been the 11 doctors set which is amazing value. I hope they do many more but they must make them more accessable and cheaper IMO.
